Mooky & Our Stuffed Army
Mooky with Mr. Golden Retriever, Mr. German Shepherd & Mr. Gorilla. This is our army of stuffed animals that we place around the house to prevent/frighten Mooky from venturing off & chewing on things he's not supposed to... like baseboards, bathroom closet doors and anything else he finds tempting. (One of these days I will post pictures of the damage he has done around the house.) First we started out with the Gorilla and it worked well for awhile but then its effectiveness wore off so we added the 2 dogs to our army of stuffed deterrents. But after catching Mooky chewing on the Golden Retriever’s eye I’m thinking we need to grow our army... any ideas?

and the Mooky adventures continue...
Try getting a plastic wolf and/or bear and/or hawk and move it to a new place every day or something...
Oooh Mooky, conquering your fear of dogs, eh? You certainly are a handsome fellow!
Try Bitter Yuck on the things he's not to touch. Its worth a try.
You can get it at just about any decent pet supply place.
thank God for the crow.
Hi Sharon,
I love your blog site and the lovely photos and accounts of Mooky - he sure is cute! I have a young girl African Grey, called Jasmine, who you can see on my recently started DweezelJazz blog. Jazzy's wings are unclipped and she spends long periods each day free around the house. I encourage her to fly and show her the spots she's allowed to go to (for example, her play station, perches set up around the house, cage). If she strays from that, we do a series of up-ups and downs for some discipline and then do something fun and then I take her back to one of her spots. This is working so far. Hope that helps.
oh no, mooky....not the poor pup's eye! hahaha! i cant get enough of mooky's antics...

Hi! I finally was able to update my blog!!! check it out... if you want to....
Typical parrot - going for the shiny buttons.
Ususally things that are large work, and better if they make a scary noise. But usually the bird will get used to it over time and won't be afraid anymore. You just have to be creative and keep getting new and different "monsters" to help keep him away from forbidden. My Af. Grey chewed the mantle off of the fireplace, holes in the carpet, baseboards, drywall, you name it, she would chew it. Good luck.
CC-man is totally undisciplined, so we can't offer any useful advice. I hope you find something that works.

I suppose you could get a real golden retriever but I'm not sure I would recommend it!
