From Sink to Sack

So I came home from work one evening to find this little fellow in the kitchen sink & I might add he decided to get himself stranded on the garbage disposal side... not too smart little guy!

As you may remember from one of my earlier posts "Lizard Rock & Crazy Wild Trumpet Tree" that these lizards usually frighten me because they move so quickly & seem to pop out of no where!

Bill came to my rescue and captured this little beast in a Ziplock bag & set him free in the backyard!

Oooo, I would have needed rescuing too! He looks a meaty little fella. What delicate toes though.

Heehee, he looks a bit like what we call Geckos! They don't bite but 'suction' as hard as a mouthful of teeth would :)

Oh, he's really cute. I hang a length of string in the bath so that spiders can get themselves out. I'm sure it would work for lizards too.

Hi Sharon! Saw your comment over at my place - I am a lazy blogger! Your pictures of Mooky are really nice.

I have a little Timneh Gray who is 29 years old. We acquired her after her owners passed away. Sammy the Gray has an impressive vocabulary and is proof that family secrets don't always go to the grave, they can be repeated loudly and often for years to come.

Sammy keeps Joonie the Too in line.

My blog was supposed to be about parrots, how it got off on ghosts and social faux pas, I have no idea. But I am going to finish that ghost story. Trying to find the time.

Mind if I linked your site on mine?

BTW, lizards are so cool. I have an Eastern Fence Swift for a pet when I was a kid.

Wow its a good thing that the little guy didn't become ground lizard meat.

Still its better then what I find in the bathtub sometimes. The Nasty dreaded daddy long legged centipedes. When you catch those, occasionally there legs come off and twitch all over. Just nasty.

that's a cute little lizzard, and we would love to chase it and protect you from it. mom would not like it inside our house either though.

Dweezle - He was meaty and actually quite but I prefer if they stay outside!

Anonymous - He does sort of look like a Gecko but he's just a a little ole fence lizard.

Madwag - As much as they frighten me I would actually find it hard to dispose of one!

Barkfoot - You're too nice! I don't like eliminating creatures but if a spider finds its way into my tub I usually wash it down... sorry!

Joonie the Too - Thanks for the reply back please link me as I will link you!

LisaBindaCity - I agree!

Lavendar - I just wonder how he found himself in the kitchen sink???

K_Tigress - Oh I have them too! Do they crawl up through the drain???

4xbs- I could really use you guys in a time like this!

Lizards usually frigten me, too, but I guess my sister is worse. She would jump around and scream until the lizard is out of sight.

One cultural tip my grandmother does to get rid of lizards is putting empty eggshells where you don't want the lizards to be, like on the dining table or the shelf/cabinet where the dry food is. From her testimony, since then the lizards only walk on the floor!

My boy would have a field day around your place...

Loves lizards. I have no idea where he got that from either.

Bill, the Hero of the day :)

Ohhhh. I love lizards. love them. I'm always trying to catch one. My kids use to (I know this is so not good) spray paint Orange Glow paint on their tails and sometimes Lime Green. We would see the same lizards for years on the property cause they were hard to miss. This was way back in the day when kids got to run ouside and play and do naughty things like that.

I tried to get them to stop, I really did...LOL...

HaHa.... if I don't know better, Bill put it there so he could come rescue you. Those are some feet this guy has. Probably came home in Bill's backpack from those scary places he visits.
