San Gabriel River Bike Path

This beautiful & friendly horse we saw along the bike path loved having her picture taken. There was also a colt that looked just like the horse in the pic... same color and same white spot on her head. The colt wasn't quite as cooperative though. She was very friendly too but she would come so close the to camera I couldn't get a good shot of her... Oh well maybe next time.

The goats on the other hand tried to get as far as they could away from me but that's okay because I like how they look all huddled together.

And finally me walking down a hill that we thought would lead us out into the neighborhood but "Not" and I'm glad it didn't because it forced us to follow the bike path to the end. This turned out to be one of our better & longer adventures (6+ hours) the weather was great & we got to explore areas we were never in before.

It looks like you had a really nice time. I like horses..and I'm not afraid of tgem as long as they are calm when I go near them. That didn't happen the last time, the horse started jumping so I left him alone. Beautiful animals, though.

Sharon, wow, beautiful horse there...and reading about your misadventure with the path....sounds like you had a great time. My husband and I have done the same thing...on foot..not on bike...but was forced to go a certain way and was so glad we did...great pics..I'm glad you visited my blog because it reminds me to come see yours...I'm a little scatterbrained at times..

oh yeah...we were out in your neck of the woods a few days ago. We hiked around Sierra Madre Canyon and visited the old Mary's general store and cafe. We hadn't been in that area in over 30 years...Do you know anything about the guy who has the bridge that leads to what looks like a nursery, across the "stream" area across from the cafe...We were wondering if he runs a little nursery there.

That looks like quite a steep hill! Sounds like you had tonnes of fun. I just love the photo of the horse. There's a horse farm near where we live and it's really nice to see them out in the fields.

Aren't horses great!

(And a little bit scary too).

(Cars are more predictable).

Andrew - We did have fun. This particular horse was extremely friendly but horses can be hard to read.

mrsmogul - She just couldn't get enough attention.

Sandy - I know exactly the bridge you're asking about but I have know idea who lives there. As far as I know there aren't any nurseries in the canyon but not sure. Were you here for the Artist's Studio Tours?

dweezeljazz - Yes, lots of fun had by all & also yes it was a steep hill.

grumplestiltskin - Horses are great and I agree a little scary but they are also beautiful but I guess so are some cars. BTW when can we expect to see a new bird posted on your blog?

I love those rambles when you have camera in hand and no idea where you are going. The shot of the horse is wonderful. Not that I am a fan of horses - but that is another story.

gtedge - Yes. I actually had to back up some because she kept coming closer.

Archie - Okay now you know I want to hear way you're not a big fan of horses!

Rauf - Funny LOL!

Garzard - We did have a great time & the white marking was a diamond shape not that you can tell from the photo.

Schnoodlepooh - We were having fun... the goats were cuties!

Lisabindacity - The creatures made it more fun!

MrManuel - I used to play video games too but biking and being outdoors is more fun to me.

Honey - That's true... but short photo breaks & a quick lunch.

Moggie - Thanks... Maybe one of these days I'll post a photo as good as the ones you have on your blog!
