What Kind of Lizard is This???

I found this little baby lizard a couple of weeks ago between the front door and screen door.

And yes, he he made me jump which I'm embarrassed to admit since he was so small.

When I opened the screen door he crawled outside and quickly ran under the doormat. He was not camera shy and I have to admit he was really cute considering him being a lizard and all! I haven't seen him since that day. I hope he crawled from underneath the mat and went on to live a happy & healthy little lizard life!

I've seen so many fence lizards and baby fence lizards I know that's not what he is but maybe one of you out there can shed some light on what type of lizard this might be.

I don't know what he is, but he sure is pretty - kind of "two-toned" and very classy-looking. Love how he's how got that swirly tail casually lying over his body. Thanks for sharing.

I like him... looks like a good one to have living around your house. We have slow worms.. they are legless lizards that look a snake... they are rare but not so rare in my neighbourhood it seems.

we have them here Sharon, pretty harmless, sleek streamlined body, same colour but little reddish tail. they move very fast, but he seemed to stop and pose for you

ooooh! I'da jumped too! He is very pretty though, almost dragon-like. Great photos of him! I've never seen anything like it. We did see what to me looked like a snake the other day up the mountain, but it actually was one of the slow worms that Madwag mentions.

I'm kinda scared of him, actually ;-)

I love lizards but I'm afraid I can't tell you what kind he is.

I don't know the difference between a fence lizard and another kind.

I would have jumped, too. Sorry I can't be of more help. If you really want to know, you could probably e-mail a wildlife rehabilitator in your area and ask.

He looks a lot like a skink. A type of lizard that can loose its tail and regrow another one.

He looks like Skink family to me too. That eveloution stuck kind that is part lizard part snake.

I was just coming back to say that I also think he is a skink.
