Since I'm new to this blogging stuff please be kind and also patient. I think it might take me a few tries to get it right!
I hope you enjoy Mooky’s Hood please leave a comment letting me know what you think.Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.comBlogger72125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-14534416520126508102010-03-23T16:31:00.000-07:002010-03-23T16:31:21.777-07:00Whittier Narrows Park<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_AEa20qGAZHHEagNZZYko_pJ1EwFGtFY1eb-jR3cE5wGoWm61OO6S9ed7fshq_w7914xD0aplBEVsP1EkDeOckLeBjChAhEikuRGXvRlah2UPQpzzryJFUBpYEX4U7YJ_F9TBl1v3Imex/s1600-h/Bike+Ride+to+Whittier+Narrows+Park-1.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_AEa20qGAZHHEagNZZYko_pJ1EwFGtFY1eb-jR3cE5wGoWm61OO6S9ed7fshq_w7914xD0aplBEVsP1EkDeOckLeBjChAhEikuRGXvRlah2UPQpzzryJFUBpYEX4U7YJ_F9TBl1v3Imex/s320/Bike+Ride+to+Whittier+Narrows+Park-1.bmp" vt="true" /> </a></div><br />

Time sure does fly! I could blame it on my lemon of a computer, Mooky’s unwillingness to cooperate or just plain laziness. I know Blah, Blah, Blah & Blah! What matters is I finally am back blogging! However all of the above excuses are the truth except for Mooky’s unwillingness to cooperate since we all know what a “Ham” is he!<br /><br />This is Mooky’s new favorite spot which I find surprising since I bought this cage over 4 years ago and up until a few weeks ago he was afraid of it! I realize sometimes if a new toy is introduced to him it might take him a few days, even weeks to get used to it but 4 years! But now every chance he gets he flies from his perch in the living room into his room to perch on top of this cage.<br /><br />Go figure!</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-8193274694127909522008-12-19T16:00:00.000-08:002008-12-19T16:28:00.797-08:00What's In Here?<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPLBqqh21YtIYIzbBVS-VbRpzjc_8m8BtHMTUcACvPmxGJoTaBSnSBwAxhk_zogtkQlfhlleW5sH46gI4HISKNaiynrkFVSZiPQRfGIWhvOJtb2ycyXYuvVVYnwsD4YIxSrNnX9B5iAEnu/s1600-h/IMG_2378.jpg"></a><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281655668652793090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu0kOn1X9XkOkbKXoNUDcJbmbR1xgbBvJ4wb0nGla24tKdWnyEVpUXqfiOhvbOT7jEQq7Frx7KlxDJLIJTh25-aEsuo1O4Ekclg7o2kJGKKM5GWeOA5jtpzcJshgfwlDx8vY-lTYoxxvfu/s400/IMG_2372.jpg" border="0" /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0KMOxVbOqDn7awEyRAAZesJ5AkTpgx6lQBYPz5UROA7zoGR1pPruwViq7TabQEgCaUhk9W4nQ4i5Hsk8Lm6dzCSPZWpjAIMGYfV4E5V4ivOJO8VNWvtXo7YWM9fhBIDBPcAQqZQEUTLko/s1600-h/IMG_2371.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281656700083366786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0KMOxVbOqDn7awEyRAAZesJ5AkTpgx6lQBYPz5UROA7zoGR1pPruwViq7TabQEgCaUhk9W4nQ4i5Hsk8Lm6dzCSPZWpjAIMGYfV4E5V4ivOJO8VNWvtXo7YWM9fhBIDBPcAQqZQEUTLko/s400/IMG_2371.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo8NHUIJPiK85s2bDBSfa2xqxL4rd2tYXmWIBlPERYxUbfaJpFE9mifw_nq98scrM5ShThWC9VcoCxQNCmEi3YJQjcbGZkRnd7k04dUZmIqWvw8_W94b8JjpIYFLmFoIp0MIBr3bFcyda3/s1600-h/IMG_2382.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281655671006573778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo8NHUIJPiK85s2bDBSfa2xqxL4rd2tYXmWIBlPERYxUbfaJpFE9mifw_nq98scrM5ShThWC9VcoCxQNCmEi3YJQjcbGZkRnd7k04dUZmIqWvw8_W94b8JjpIYFLmFoIp0MIBr3bFcyda3/s400/IMG_2382.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div><div><div><div>The other evening I was in the kitchen fixing dinner and like any normal person I went into the refrigerator to get some things out and left the door open while I put the items I took out on the counter. When I went back to close the fridge door there was Mooky perched atop it inspecting the contents. Not only did he inspect the contents inside but he also found it necessary rip the things I have stuck to the front of the door with magnets. (Unfortunately that picture was too blurry to post.)<br /><br />Even after I closed the door he would fly back to it but he wasn’t able to perch on it while it was closed. Here we have him gripped to the sliding glass door handle in the living room while I was probably watching TV. This was one of those cases where his perch was too close to the door so Mooky being Mooky he just couldn’t resist climbing onto it. I’m not quite sure what he expected to accomplish while there but I’m not a bird with too much time on his hands/feet!<br /><br />Really when it comes right down to it Mooky’s not the best at hiding his little birdy stunts. I wouldn’t have even known he was up to “No Good” if he hadn’t said, “Ah!” and started laughing.<br /><br />I guess he thinks he’s pretty funny! <div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-864863850798212412008-10-29T15:47:00.000-07:002008-11-11T11:33:15.052-08:00Visitor At My Front Door<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMTwB_Pp2os-587hvX1qv1xvlY-w9NxSnLu8QOWLFM2FgxXiW0KzzeljHSreKGs3Xx1L_c5xtKBdYv64b3jVyYR332dsL5PTYyz7VJUSsS4Vra9fPrtdodcaaBks75s4YLc3R95fz5uAE3/s1600-h/IMG_2256.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262711700676870274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMTwB_Pp2os-587hvX1qv1xvlY-w9NxSnLu8QOWLFM2FgxXiW0KzzeljHSreKGs3Xx1L_c5xtKBdYv64b3jVyYR332dsL5PTYyz7VJUSsS4Vra9fPrtdodcaaBks75s4YLc3R95fz5uAE3/s400/IMG_2256.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262711694457040258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7_SYgXuOHUJ4yT2LH1quSxXrgjOrC093dWVBgXfdYv1DBJT1EpVmte3PCC0A42oaUlsmZDXoFDyK_nuOgygveRmAdUHidmIcSCBSyyYRVJswDEFBktmdW3_bmac8M-r7MkQnb40aDzGtg/s400/IMG_2255.jpg" border="0" /> <div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8c5mybGTEQ9624OyJLcMM56WQG6-iYvKE7okfkWuFHkOdUp4U919CLY9pjq0IzpBM2BonjEiwh58AMvdQIL2sghS4pXdbTp_UeHIiJIZ00MyMk_VHGRlTuR5_R8-sbUAxkJJBl8pAbzmA/s1600-h/IMG_2251.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262711692107879042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8c5mybGTEQ9624OyJLcMM56WQG6-iYvKE7okfkWuFHkOdUp4U919CLY9pjq0IzpBM2BonjEiwh58AMvdQIL2sghS4pXdbTp_UeHIiJIZ00MyMk_VHGRlTuR5_R8-sbUAxkJJBl8pAbzmA/s400/IMG_2251.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262711703551660866" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg1awIOFEwumtunN0ciBAw2X1Ujyud_haNkzjxwj_PWZlfcQQhs3MOwefuCFbdeJiA5mzAM1Sb7locBhhJU_Vt45i709aQ1hldK5pIkVi6CC9cSTCFLcDE9Nkyyksb4gb6Z4vMQFr-P3pL/s400/IMG_2258.jpg" border="0" /></div></div></div></div><br />I found this little green guy just outside of our front door when I went out to get the mail. Why does he do this; I’m not quite sure exactly? We think that he pretends its Bill he’s triumphing over, who by the way is in the tub. Mooky follows Bill into the bathroom every morning and plays on the bathroom floor while Bill is bathing. I use the word “play” very loosely because Mooky’s true motive is to get into the bathroom closet and chew on rolls of toilet paper like in the “<a href="http://mookyshood.blogspot.com/2007/08/blue-bathroom-ducky.html">Blue Bathroom Ducky</a>” post.<br /><br />One day the shaving cream can was on the floor and Bill just left it there as another layer of protection to prevent Mooky from getting into the closet. When Bill told me about Mooky fighting the can I have to admit I didn’t believe him but boy was he right.<br /><br />If you listen closely you can hear Mooky ask for water… I guess all that can fighting makes a bird thirsty!</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-31982481017766810102008-08-08T12:29:00.001-07:002008-08-08T14:00:03.981-07:00Waiting<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5232231245448699058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9EzdqE11R_0FwO3DsrxTrij-m2B8okFKf-zET-jDAUYzns4lg-zLSSsDrxjSTxUwOg8CrOjnj3pr-p9GYt_UJsWmnB1QuwKwJIAcd7v4MkPPy2DBzLZHMVThUWsJIXm1Pl-Wy4avJTjUV/s400/Bear2.jpg" border="0" /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9-L9mlPy0eIseAfXxC-HF500OkAIrNGSmYmR3rS0UK0zPeTqaJa1X-ZmWouRxQtTbD65xJWLGRrlcVOU2VQoJzqGWsTwlV4QqjLBVcszgAptXmDtpCyrP74xqCNvRmiF8PMPN6wdp7bWW/s1600-h/Bear.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5232231246370299026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9-L9mlPy0eIseAfXxC-HF500OkAIrNGSmYmR3rS0UK0zPeTqaJa1X-ZmWouRxQtTbD65xJWLGRrlcVOU2VQoJzqGWsTwlV4QqjLBVcszgAptXmDtpCyrP74xqCNvRmiF8PMPN6wdp7bWW/s400/Bear.jpg" border="0" /></a>My computer is in the shop so I decided to post these Bear photos that a friend sent to me. Occassionally while I’m in the livingroom watching TV, DVD's whatever (BTW one of my favorite past times that is other than working in the yard) he’ll fly over and perch on the back of the couch. Every now and then I think whats the harm in this so I let him stay there. Usually after just a few short minutes I'll hear little faints sounds of parrot beak chewing on the upholstery of the sofa.<br /><br /><div> </div><div>This is when the Sofa Ducky is needed not much different than the <a href="http://mookyshood.blogspot.com/2007/08/blue-bathroom-ducky.html">Blue Bathroom Ducky</a> only he’s not light blue and he doesn't reside in the bathroom linen closet.<br /><br />Mooky attempts to stand his ground with the Sofa Ducky Ducky but gives up and flies back to his perch only to try it all over again in about 5 minutes.<br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-78009173353277175832008-06-04T12:05:00.000-07:002008-12-10T16:24:52.245-08:00Kitty Patrol<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208105186421592370" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfkl6C89QtpomE-xAWlHxYMe8vhrJy_hLLQNdMAIr3gtvztIVEvWxPWC2F6hGk7JOvg8JW5vpSzclW9N2l2ocijue-GqxET5QOuNN0HViQps97gpJLWrbbQyKNeBREJQEC5-AbCToW7p4G/s400/IMG_1964.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208105195011527010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8XybvYv7X_vUf7Myu0yLIjcPKo9Q9aCnyC5UlouVJo02nCr-Vlt3iyKgzBc-m_Efi93JuKzGx5VRHlM-LLT-bM_2K-XvbX8S32C_UyFUmkrL_r1vdZr6nQwN9WN18QQ2rQ-BEE5XY4X0/s400/IMG_1973.jpg" border="0" /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzghE0eZB_UQnVhcKqm2u5_tUoYqOAhigPv2NZhsv1T1XiAcwDfZOSV63b4EWc0iYrWUD0gZiu5LI7wQDfBEIojTiO3JbK3BCLm7C3gtbpsl5uyxBv4eWNkiAB8yCwFabyJdysHD8IRIEb/s1600-h/IMG_1968.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208105195011526994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzghE0eZB_UQnVhcKqm2u5_tUoYqOAhigPv2NZhsv1T1XiAcwDfZOSV63b4EWc0iYrWUD0gZiu5LI7wQDfBEIojTiO3JbK3BCLm7C3gtbpsl5uyxBv4eWNkiAB8yCwFabyJdysHD8IRIEb/s400/IMG_1968.jpg" border="0" /></a> These pictures were taken in the parking lot of the Bakersfield Museum back in March. When we were leaving the museum I happened to spot the ducks across the parking lot behind a fence in a playground. And off course I immediately thought they would make a good post!<br /><br />So I walked over to get closer to them and that’s when I saw the cats. Okay so I figured I’ll take pictures of ducks & cats... for I have nothing against cats except for that they eat birds!<br /><br />But these kittys were protecting the ducks or either preventing the ducks from getting any treats from passersby. For the most part every time I got the camera positioned to get a snapshot of a duck a kitty would come along and hog up the shot... as you can see!<br /><br /><div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-84747023146796043032008-05-01T12:22:00.000-07:002008-12-10T16:24:52.385-08:00Simply Mooky<div align="left"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsEeRpBQMHRsw2QdZ81YqDuAQHF24LaU-yYhp8VduU8MTxn1u6rlynyLcF-nP5iPkJBtX7By1-afXiIPIMCPT1CRaZtLrZYwGxMyZcU6dGYi2_7B8j4viKioRYbJHL2Ym6tGnu1qpvmJTP/s1600-h/IMG_1988.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195492730469631714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsEeRpBQMHRsw2QdZ81YqDuAQHF24LaU-yYhp8VduU8MTxn1u6rlynyLcF-nP5iPkJBtX7By1-afXiIPIMCPT1CRaZtLrZYwGxMyZcU6dGYi2_7B8j4viKioRYbJHL2Ym6tGnu1qpvmJTP/s400/IMG_1988.jpg" border="0" /></a>Now that the fires seem to be over and the memory of the sad African Grey in the Plexiglas case has faded a bit I thought it was time for a post of just simply Mooky. Here he is in all his glory in the backseat of the car in his travel cage. It almost looks like I caught him midway through a sentence. I can’t actually remember if that was the case but when we travel with him he usually has a lot to chat about that’s when he’s not screaming, whistling, kissing or roaring like a Dinosaur. And being a bird he always takes time out during the trip to munch on a corn kernel or two. </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-68198320911304181852008-04-26T23:35:00.000-07:002008-12-10T16:24:53.325-08:00The Hills Are On Fire<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVAsH8xn1m5-0I6ttRw9x3puEQk1ByOcnaODWWOj7MruEh-C2AZPoOvjm9UEC864FtNm0KXGDN-drH6emMqGC-tGDWLjrBmZeF15dPKcUiPt02N-JVxHVJ2RDXxeCsiBFaOUBsuD9U6mM4/s1600-h/IMG_2008.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVAsH8xn1m5-0I6ttRw9x3puEQk1ByOcnaODWWOj7MruEh-C2AZPoOvjm9UEC864FtNm0KXGDN-drH6emMqGC-tGDWLjrBmZeF15dPKcUiPt02N-JVxHVJ2RDXxeCsiBFaOUBsuD9U6mM4/s400/IMG_2008.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193810752557041250" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSAjPD58gxzrnsTXtOsOj5Fkq57e3xtwYMSixc5jG_XTLDTp5ZVVW_HWEeIK5BqP7OSoSFDhiuqro10YIDFWLdLrl8VGYt5AbxVeUKWRVCe5m-KGLXpk_7mxXyvBv7okEdLqmgdQX9A86D/s1600-h/IMG_2025.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSAjPD58gxzrnsTXtOsOj5Fkq57e3xtwYMSixc5jG_XTLDTp5ZVVW_HWEeIK5BqP7OSoSFDhiuqro10YIDFWLdLrl8VGYt5AbxVeUKWRVCe5m-KGLXpk_7mxXyvBv7okEdLqmgdQX9A86D/s400/IMG_2025.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193810761146975858" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uIfG2X9hWE3V5gYNZ72nksHjh8UbcmbRteFzEqcafiRLw7LsyuDPm6h1mpBgGiN6siuBsUUyoG1J5GUPE0myg556GAbAzAI0HMumUWb1ZIa1WkpAvoUJgXYxWd567B4RQlvQ9BZvKQl0/s1600-h/IMG_2010.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uIfG2X9hWE3V5gYNZ72nksHjh8UbcmbRteFzEqcafiRLw7LsyuDPm6h1mpBgGiN6siuBsUUyoG1J5GUPE0myg556GAbAzAI0HMumUWb1ZIa1WkpAvoUJgXYxWd567B4RQlvQ9BZvKQl0/s400/IMG_2010.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193810765441943170" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGuKOqBQDqAkKn9Ol7xD_gtr47HQcY8qLgR8uB00trskGh7CcA58Zj9SG_9fXxn8ROjh3loqFKyJy4Ko5DbGcQAWZ597iXnjKccWyxiX8agr1Uz778ZudiYayj_pXM3SLIUVTXPqCSRD7u/s1600-h/IMG_2025.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGuKOqBQDqAkKn9Ol7xD_gtr47HQcY8qLgR8uB00trskGh7CcA58Zj9SG_9fXxn8ROjh3loqFKyJy4Ko5DbGcQAWZ597iXnjKccWyxiX8agr1Uz778ZudiYayj_pXM3SLIUVTXPqCSRD7u/s400/IMG_2025.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193810769736910482" border="0" /></a>I took these photos from our front porch just a few minutes ago. In this particular pet store called “Super Pets” located in Temple City, CA there were several birds… 1 large Cockatoo (Nothing seems to bother them!), several finches, parakeets, some cockatiels & last but not least this sad looking African Grey who looked just like Mooky. It saddened me because all I could do was picture Mooky in this Plexiglas box with nothing to do or no one to consider his flock.<br /><br />You have to wonder who thought of keeping puppies, kittens, snakes & large birds etc. in plexiglas boxes and not to mention in pet shops period.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-55341572067131326072008-03-25T23:35:00.000-07:002008-03-26T09:57:09.430-07:00Saturday Morning Bath<p><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwES-iMiBLiwJMuXc7aO1PT7SAUjlPEQxm16cPL9TozRw2X5f2bdfxg5z-bhKRYxTjroQjNHHOHog7ho3yeXA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></p><p>Well I have to agree with Mooky that last Saturday morning was the perfect day for a bath. </p><p>The sun was shining, all the other birds were bathing outside, the warm breeze flowing through the sliding glass door & a water cup filled with cool & clean water ... why not! </p><p>Hey if Mooky's dish was big enough for me I would have probably taken a bath in it myself!</p><p>The problem with Mooky's baths is that Mooky doesn't seem to get wet... just the floor, shutters and walls could you imagine the mess I would make!</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-24626379174648652612008-02-17T12:51:00.001-08:002008-12-10T16:24:54.351-08:00Loopty-Loop Palm<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNPM9VvDWhuEs_PEZBc6AethzCd2Z8e4TJ79o0lVwHXTPgmqDua64BP9rgYzy8RvsLjxMqfmzNZupTSzlaKR0z4LJY9TK1RbCKzC0WnHRzotdE4zYSZ5d3PtnxIhHfTsgWeLRiLyx9K8JX/s1600-h/Palm+1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNPM9VvDWhuEs_PEZBc6AethzCd2Z8e4TJ79o0lVwHXTPgmqDua64BP9rgYzy8RvsLjxMqfmzNZupTSzlaKR0z4LJY9TK1RbCKzC0WnHRzotdE4zYSZ5d3PtnxIhHfTsgWeLRiLyx9K8JX/s400/Palm+1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168055343600434546" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKzJUSwFYPcwUvnThaYMpGltSnA-2DMYS1s7yE2HW_96V6C7OUV1BISKM7hyphenhyphen62wRGuGrSU3FUZR7jXoVtghDCn6F0l6faFv_tc6751LasANVKKbKlqBaKaip296O9cMJ0tAqe2YYBb7fFR/s1600-h/Palm+2.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKzJUSwFYPcwUvnThaYMpGltSnA-2DMYS1s7yE2HW_96V6C7OUV1BISKM7hyphenhyphen62wRGuGrSU3FUZR7jXoVtghDCn6F0l6faFv_tc6751LasANVKKbKlqBaKaip296O9cMJ0tAqe2YYBb7fFR/s400/Palm+2.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168055360780303746" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhicu3vgd7CcxSO-jD4YnfaJq_rtCEVdn832DmQ_OWlQZBF-3BVNVQ5N6Pwsn5BqszkM4ufSppLTUfskyZKmNJb7So7JJwPbRyzHndAfkbZrMlkUIv-7aN6D0aSDyQNffTn0V9AYqJctIg_/s1600-h/Palm+3.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhicu3vgd7CcxSO-jD4YnfaJq_rtCEVdn832DmQ_OWlQZBF-3BVNVQ5N6Pwsn5BqszkM4ufSppLTUfskyZKmNJb7So7JJwPbRyzHndAfkbZrMlkUIv-7aN6D0aSDyQNffTn0V9AYqJctIg_/s400/Palm+3.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168055373665205650" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaBj_RdGtM89J9Bfw4xaAM0icXThyphenhyphenMrSwZ_KxexDxGE2Y111m6AYb0a1e2DIzpsecippAnavSlqaBaKMHWNlN5hmhBL4TJ8TEYV8zsJTLQEp5u5lNKUaMC9eQ4P7br3ACvTwB-oY8rE_GB/s1600-h/Palm+4.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaBj_RdGtM89J9Bfw4xaAM0icXThyphenhyphenMrSwZ_KxexDxGE2Y111m6AYb0a1e2DIzpsecippAnavSlqaBaKMHWNlN5hmhBL4TJ8TEYV8zsJTLQEp5u5lNKUaMC9eQ4P7br3ACvTwB-oY8rE_GB/s400/Palm+4.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168055382255140258" border="0" /></a>Hey I know this isn't a bird, creature or even something growing or crawling in my garden but when I went on a walk the other day for my lunch break I found this Loopty-Loop Palm Tree. I place them outside in trees or perched on a pumpkin! Nothing too elaborate I always like to keep things simple. The bamboo room divider ; which we call "The Barricade" is meant to prevent Mooky from wondering from the livingroom area into other parts of the house to help keep his destruction down to a minimum. The problem with "The Barricade" is that it has a pretty big gap between it and the doorway. For a while Mooky was afraid enough of the actual room divider itself that he wouldn't go near it but in time he figured how to fly through the small gap making his escape to the rest of the house.<br /><br />These days thanks to the watchful eyes of the crows Mooky hasn't been able to get past "The Barricade" but that doesn't mean he hasn't tried. He'll walk over to inspect the situation hoping to find a gap he can squeeze through.<br /><br />I'm just curious to see how long it takes Mooky to befriend the crows... One day I fully expect to walk in and find him perched atop "The Barricade" with the crows!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-3669509474871323932008-01-20T11:50:00.002-08:002008-12-10T16:24:55.234-08:00Hello, Hello... I think we exited on Valley Boulevard and parked in a Big K-Mart lot to unload our bikes and hit the road. We went through City of Industry, Puente Hills & Walnut just to mention a few.<br /><br />The day was grey and so was the areas we biked through & that's fine with me but most of the bike ride itself was pretty uneventful. That was until we were headed back to the car down Valley Blvd. when we heard a familiar squawk and I might add a very, very loud squawk. We pulled over to discover a Red Macaw in the parking lot of some sort of auto repair business. The Macaw cried out for attention and seemed entertained for the few moments we spent with him. It was getting dark out so a lot of the photos didn’t turn out.<br /><br />This Macaw was well protected by his junkyard dog buddy in the bottom photo who I nicknamed Cujo!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-29234081433803606292007-11-20T16:29:00.000-08:002008-12-10T16:24:57.297-08:00Happy Bird Day<div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwRAwDCCsVy-3jGEPF0u6N9WWrCCRrAApFs-wQ2Veam3PGMsiEJ8jmtdPpa67dZ2ibJ6GojuPIgtKN-mKKV3jHcxXHZNByL9uzq41ohyJLH0lHOaikhNMDztexFikJG-8iIRQs6qgHQ_Yp/s1600-h/PostNov20Mooky1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135084477473205538" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Now he knows he’s not supposed to be there but then again how much fun would it really be if he wasn’t breaking house rules. If he walks over to me I’ll pick him up and give him a love fest… that’s me petting him until he’s had enough & pinches me! But if he flies over I send him back to his perch without a love fest. I’m hoping this will teach him good behavior. My thinking is that maybe he’ll realize he’s allowed to visit me on the couch if he intentionally walks over for affection/attention but if he flies over just to be bad he has to go right back to his perch.<br /><br />But as you can see Mooky has turned being sent back to his perch into a new game… the Amazing Flying Pillow game. Sometimes I have wonder who’s training who!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><p id="blogfeeds"><$BlogFeedsVertical$></p></div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11003519213681382888noreply@blogger.com19
