It might have something to do with the lax animal abuse laws around here. Only recently they updated them because of some dog named Ajay. His previous owner thought it would have been a money saving idea to cut the German shepherd's ears off to making him more ferocious looking. Instead it caused the poor dog agony n pain. Cause of that we finally got the update on out law. Still not enough yet. We have a long way to go yet. The original law was made in the 18 hundreds.
:pK_tigresshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02435524324162761134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-48506348130298058102008-04-25T23:20:00.000-07:002008-04-25T23:20:00.000-07:00I agree... very sad :o(I think that the pet shops ...I agree... very sad :o(

I think that the pet shops here in the UK are a little different than the ones that I knew in America... at least the ones I have been to. I have never ever seen puppies or kittens in pet shops here... just birds and rodents alike. The birds I have see have always been happy and interactive. People here in the UK sometimes take better care of their pets than their own family...lol. I'm sure I will find a pet shop someday that will change my mind.Madwaghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01433430680768274496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-71287719096601010832008-04-23T11:56:00.000-07:002008-04-23T11:56:00.000-07:00Now I'm not going in anymore. I can see how people become pet collectors.william wrayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06471366449711429780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-91232971858123254162008-04-23T07:52:00.000-07:002008-04-23T07:52:00.000-07:00I no longer can go into pet stores for exactly thi...I no longer can go into pet stores for exactly this reason. Intellectually, I know I can't save them because if I buy one, the store benefitted economically and will replace this 1 bird with 2 more, but emotionally it's so hard to leave them there. Especially when it's a grey!

I have left pet stores in tears over the deplorable conditions of the animals in the past. So now, for my own emotional well-being, I just can't go in them.Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06645791926538907697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834371949691490385.post-44688375570593857332008-04-23T06:24:00.000-07:002008-04-23T06:24:00.000-07:00I agree completely.
